Hello! Welcome to my webpages! I have 32 years teaching experience and have taught at Croatan High School the last nine years. We have a super school; I am so proud to be a team member here. I am a native of Carteret County and reside in Radford Estates with my husband of 32 years, Scott. He also works at our school with child nutrition. Our 24 year old twin daughters, Allison and Ashley, are Class of 2003 graduates from Croatan High School and are magna cum laude graduates of East Carolina University, my alma mater. Educational endeavors are still ongoing for Ashley; she is a member of the Class of 2011 at NCSU's College of Veterinary Medicine. She has wanted to be a vet all her life and now she has a sure shot at it! Check her out at the CVM Class link (She is the first person on the rotating picture feature "Ashley on her horse, Rachel"!): http://www.cvm.ncsu.edu/class/2011/ Ashley is a newlywed; she is married to Tim Larson, a lance corporal in the United States Marine Corps. Here's a crazy fact: they met on Craig's List! She was married at Fort Macon on August 2, 2008. Allison is married, also, and has begun her career as a Jackson County Family Services Counselor. Her husband, Nate, is a fine man who is an Indiana conservation officer. Can you believe they met at spring break at Panama Beach, Fla? He stole her heart, whisked her away from the NC Crystal Coast and they happily live in Crothersville, Indiana. Allison has a wonderful pet named Henry...would that mean he is my grand-dog? He sure is cute! Check out this video she posted on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E80tVXgoXRM For the 2008 Fall semester, I will teach all Marine Science. YEAH! What a great time we will have! Learning will be very relevant since we live right here on the water! Additionally, I am the advisor to the BETA Club, an honor club for Juniors and Seniors. Previously, all of my classes have been involved with the North Carolina Coastal Federation( www.nccoast.org ) and the oyster restoration project. Students helped to bag shell, count colonies, and monitor the control areas of the experimental reef. My student's involvement and work earned me a distinction from this environmental organization. I was the recipient of The Pelican Award in 2007 as the top educator for NC central region. It was really the students who should be recognized. My classes will again work closely with this organization. There is still much work to be done! ><((((º>`·. .· `·. .· `·... ><((((º> `·. .· `·. .· `·... ><((((º> When you can't beat 'em, join 'em!
