Welcome to my web page, my name is Madelene Lewis. I was born in New Bern and raised on our families farm in Newport. I completed elementary school in Newport, and graduated from West Carteret High School. After completing my bachelor's of science in Family and Consumer Science at Campbell University, Buies Creek, North Carolina, I returned to Carteret County. I was hired at West Carteret and taught in the Family and Consumer Science Department for fifteen years. While at West I served as a coach for softball, department chair and club sponsor.

In 1999, I became the adult educator in the Even Start Family Literacy Program housed at Bogue Sound Elementary. Because of federal budget cuts, the program was not renewed and I was excited to except a position here at Croatan in the Family and Consumer Science Department. Becoming a member of the Croatan family has been a blessing. The facility and staff are truly concerned with the growth and development of the students we serve here.

I have been happily married for 21 years to a wonderful man. We have two super, and very busy, children, who attend Croatan. I would like to warn you that I am computer/technology illiterate. I would like to apologize in advance for any problems that may occur during the school year. Thank you for your patience.
