Check out the Sister Communities Project of San Ramon. This group is trying the improve the quality of life in their village. A friend of mine went down there recently with some students from Chapel Hill and took school supplies to donate to the very rural & poor schools involved in this project. (Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the western hemisphere.) I encourage you to peruse the website as it gives a good overview of this non-profit group - also check out Finca Esperanza Verde. It's a very cool eco-lodge built by this organization. www.san-ramon.org

This is the entrance to La Feria de Sevilla (Seville's Fair).  This huge festival is held the week after Semana Santa/Holy Week (aka the week prior to Easter Sunday). It's a chance for everyone to let off some steam after a very somber week and to celebrate spring time!
