Welcome to Physical Science! I am looking forward to an interesting and fun semester with you. My goals are to get you involved with and excited about the topics we cover. My main objective is to make physical science fun! Remember, it is all about you. I am here for your learning. In order to learn and have fun we will both need to devote a lot of time to this class. You will be required to take notes, participate in class activities and spend an adequate amount of time working at home.
1. Come into class everyday with a positive attitude and a willingness to think and learn. Yes, you will have to think in this class!
2. Respect everyone in the classroom.
3. Have all required materials everyday.
4. Follow all county and school handbook rules.
5. Leave all food and drinks outside the classroom or with me in the front of the room.
*You must be in your seat and working when the tardy bell rings.
*You are expected to participate in all class activities. Not participating can result in a zero.
*You must ask permission to leave the room.
*Cheating of any kind on ANY assignment will result in a zero and a possible office referral.
*I will dismiss class, not the bell.
*You will be responsible for any missed work due to absences. All late assignments and tests must be made up before the next test.
*Any missing work can be turned in the next day for half credit. After that day, the assignment should be put into the portfolio. This does not include a “homework check”.
*Any assignments not completed by the due date for a "homework check" will result in a parent phone call and the following:
1st -1 day lunch detention
2nd- hour detention after school with me
3rd- 1 week lunch detention
4th- ALC
*All assignments will be handed in together on Fridays.
*A portfolio must be maintained throughout the entire semester. I will collect portfolios at any time. You will not get notice on when they may be collected. Keep your portfolio up to date at all times!!!
*Any serious offense will result in an office referral or immediate ALC.
Your grades are available to you at any time, just ask. You will receive several progress reports throughout the semester.
All assignments =100points
All tests = 200 points
All projects = 300 points
Portfolio= 300 points
You will get a percentage grade on each assignment, test and project.
