Welcome to the
Driver Education Program at Croatan High School. The mission
of this program is to produced safe and
competent drivers. As with all programs at Croatan,
expectations regarding behavior and motivation are high.
All
students entering the program should arrive with a serious attitude and a sincere
desire to master the fundamental laws
governing the
operation of a vehicle on the roadways in North Carolina. Driving a
vehicle is a serious matter that requires
a significant
degree of maturity. This should be reflected in both your efforts and behavior in class and behind
the wheel.
The Driver Education Program is privately contracted
by the North Carolina Driving School
under the guidance of the
Carteret County
School System. This web site, maintained by
the instructor, is intended to provide information to the
students and parents. If there are any questions or concerns please address Jim Butler, the Driver Education Instructor
at Croatan High
School. Mr. Butler is a full time Science teacher at
Croatan; therefore, the most efficient form of contact
would be the school's email
account. Students will be given an emergency contact number
during the week they are scheduled
to drive; that is only for emergency access
by the parents needing to contact students that are behind the wheel
during that scheduled week.
