BICYCLING (3 weeks) February 19 - March 7 Week 1 – Road Rules and Safety Safety Equipment Riding Skills Week 2 – Mountain Biking Riding on trails Week 3 – Street Riding Riding on Streets * student must supply a proper fitting bicycling helmet and a bicycle in good condition and appropriate size.
SWIMMING (five weeks) March 10 - April 18 Week 1 - Freestyle Body position Fee $25 Breathing Arm Stroke Kick Total Stroke Week 2 – Backstroke Body position Breathing Arm Stroke Kick Week 3 – Breaststroke Body position Breathing Arm Stroke Kick Total Stroke Week 4 – Butterfly Body position Breathing Arm Stroke Kick Total Stroke Week 5 – Snorkeling Mask use Mask clearing Snorkel use Fin use Surface diving Intro to SCUBA * student must supply bathing suit, towel, goggles, and a mask and snorkel
FISHING2 (3 weeks) April 21 - May 9 Week 1 - Guest Speakers on North Carolina Rules and Regulations for fishing Rods, reels and tackle boxes for class use. Week 2 - Fish in the creeks and sound near Croatan Week 3 - Fishing off the beach * student must supply a rod, reel and supplied tackle box
KAYAKING (5 weeks) May 12 - May 30 Week 1 – Boat parts Boat Safety Fee $15 Internet program Lab 161 Week 2 – Paddling Changing direction start and stop Point of Sail Capsizing and Recovery Week 3 – Paddling * student must supply a kayak, whistle and life jacket. Towel, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses are advised.
