I. Computer Lab
1. Never take drink
or candy into the lab.
2. Always save
on your H:Drive/Flash Drive.
II. Bathroom
1. Students are
allowed three bathroom breaks per six weeks.
2. Bathroom breaks
are only allowed at the beginning/end of the period.
III. Class dismissal
1. The teacher
dismisses class not the bell.
2. Do not line up at the
door.
IV. Homework
1. Students are expected
to read each night.
2. AP students must create their own list of terms for each chapter. The list should include 25 people
places, events, etc. that they need to know from that particular time period.
3. Civics students must complete the section assessments at the end of each section.
4. All homework assignments are due on test days.
5. Students who make an A on their Chapter Test are exempt from homework on their next Chapter Test.
IV. Late work
1. Late work will be
accepted only if a student is absent.
2. The work must be
turned in the following day.
3. Students will not be reminded to turn it in.
V. Extra Credit
1. Extra credit
can be earned on your reading checks if you
write a one page summary on the section the reading
check covered. (up to 50 pts.)
2. The summary must be turned in the following day.
3. Additional extra credit may be offered during the semester.
VI. Retesting
1. A retest is
allowed on any test.
2. The retest must
be done prior to the next chapter test.
3. Retests can
be taken before or after school and at lunch.
4. A retest can not
lower your grade.
VII. Note Taking
1. Everyone is
responsible for taking notes.
2. Notes are given
in a win lose or draw format. The
phrase does not have to be written down, but all
pertinent information should be. (dates, names, etc.)
3. A team score
will be kept during the six weeks and the
members of the winning team will receive a reward.
VIII. Groups
1. All members
of class will have a semester partner.
2. The class will
also choose groups of 3 and 4 to work in
during group projects.
X. Daily review
1. Several days
a week students will be asked questions
at the beginning of class. The purpose of the questions
will be to check the students reading progress and to
review material from the previous day or days.
2. Candy will be
awarded to people who answer five
question. The totals will be kept throughout the six
weeks, and students can receive more than one blow
pop a six weeks.
3. Questions will
be asked of every student, but if a student
does not know the answer then other students may
raise their hand to steal the candy point.
XI. Reading Checks
1. A short quiz could be given to check the reading.
2. Reading Checks are only given to unprepared classes.
XII. Grading Scale
1. Tests - 70 %
(Includes Tests and Quizzes)
2. Homework - 30
% (Includes Homework, Essays, and Projects)
