February 16, 2012: Military: Each year ten $50,000 4-year scholarships to high school seniors who have a parent who is an active-duty Service Member and 20 $5000 grants to spouses of active-duty Service Members stationed at Fort Meade, MD; Fort Bragg, NC; Fort Polk, LA; Fort Rucker, AL; Fort Riley, KS; Fort Sill, OK; or Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. is awarded.  The scholarship and grant applications are available online at www.ourfamilyfoundation.org

    - Eunice Riggins Memorial:  Senior Female top 10% of class.  SAT of 1650 or higher/ACT composite score of 20
    - Mary Rose Mills Memorial-Linda Rankin Memorial: Any senior ranked top 10% and SAT of 1700 or higher/ACT composite of 22
    - NCADK Student Achievement: Senior SAT 1650-1750/ACT composite score between 20 and 24, GPA between 2.5 and 3.5 weighted

February 24, 2012: Balikatan of Havelock, NC Cultural Arts Scholarship - Must be a senior graduating from a public high school in Craven or Carteret Counties, have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5, and enroll in any major at an accredited undergraduate program.  Applications are in the counseling center.

February 28, 2012: RAP time 2012 at NC A&T State University - RAP (Research Apprenticeship Program) is offered at A&T to give students the chance to have hands-on science research.  Offered June 24 - July 20....students accepted will be compensated financially.  Application online at www.ag.ncat.edu

February 29, 2012: Buick Achievers Scholarships - Seniors who plan to attend a four year college to major in a field of study that focuses on: technology, business or design, engineering, and has an interest in automotive industry should apply. March 1, 2012: NC USBC Association, Inc. Youth Scholarship - Are you a member of the NCS USBCA and do you bowl in a certified USBC NC youth league?  If so, you may qualify to apply for $1,500 in scholarship money!  See Ms. Stewart for application.

March 1, 2012: Golden Leaf Foundation Scholarships - Seniors, you may be eligible for up to $3,000 per year!  Money is given for community colleges and four year schools!  Visit www.CFNC.org/goldenleaf  to complete an application or call 866-866-2362 for assistance.  Additional information in the counseling center.

March 2, 2012: Carteret-Craven Electric Cooperative Scholarship - $4,000 given over four years to a senior from CHS!  Primary residence should be in Carteret-Craven's EMC district.  Based on 50% financial need, 25% academic achievement, and 25% extracurricular activities.  Applications may be found at www.carteretcravenelectric.coop or see Ms. Stewart for a printed copy.

March 5, 2012: Crystal Coast Choral Society - $500 scholarships available to seniors majoring in music (performance, educational, or therapeutic).  See Ms. Stewart for an application.

March 15, 2012: Newport Consolidated School Alumni Assoc. Scholarship - Seniors must be direct descendent (child or grandchild) of a student or teacher of Newport Consolidated School from the Fall of 1922 to Spring of 1964.  Applications are in the counseling center.

March 15, 2012: Marine Federal Credit Union - Seniors, who are members of Marine Federal Credit Union or parent/guardian is a member, should apply. April 4, 2012: SECU Scholarship - $10,000 will be given to one senior at CHS.  You must be attending one of the 16 constituent campuses of the University of NC.  Preference is given to students whose parents/guardians are in the public sector as employees.  Students should demonstrate leadership, excellence in character, integrity, and community involvement.  Applications are in the counseling center.
