The 2002 Croatan Winterguard again went undefeated in AIA circuit competition earning two midseason promotions to Scholastic AA class. In there first-ever WGI experience the guard earned a spot as a WGI Regional Finalist (8th-place) at the Carolina Regional in Rock Hill, SC.

The 2003 Croatan Winterguard again goes undefeated in AIA circuit competition and was a WGI Regional Finalist (2nd-place) at the Nashville Regional and the Carolina Regional Champion. The guard was the WGI 8th-plce A class finalist at World Championships in Dayton, OH. The review committee promoted Croatan to Open class following the 2003 season.

The 2004 Croatan Open Guard remained undefeated in AIA circuit competition and was a WGI Regional Finalist at the Virginia Regional and East Power Regional in Providence, Rhode Island. The guard was a WGI Open class semi-finalist at World Championships in San Diego, CA.

The 2005 Croatan Open Guard placed 4th in the scholastic open class at the Gainesville Regional, and was crowned scholastic open regional champion at the Carolina Regional in Roebuck, SC, and the South Power Regional in Mobile, Alabama.
The 2005 Croatan Open Guard was the silver medalist in the scholastic open class at Winterguard International World championships in Dayton Ohio.

The 2006 Croatan Open Guard was the gold medalist in the independent open class at Winterguard International World championships in Dayton Ohio.
