Mrs. Alexander E-mail: beth.alexander@carteretk12.org

A $6.00 fee is required for this class.  There are a number of hands-on projects in this class.  I will purchase the lumber to satisfy the project requirements; but the project will become the property of the school.  If your child would like to keep their projects, they will need to pay an additional $10.00 for the lumber or bring in their own lumber.  I will supply the remaining materials for project completion (i.e. paint, sand paper, putty, nails, etc.)

Each student will have an assigned seat until I learn your name.  After that, you may sit where you like as long as there is no disruption to class.

We have had issues with tools not being put back in the proper space; therefore, each student will be assigned a number.  You will only use the tools that have the same corresponding number on it.  If it becomes damaged, you are to notify me before using any other tool.  If you let someone borrow it, you will still be responsible if it is not returned.  During the last 15 minutes of class, an inventory will be made and a check sheet will be initialed.  Fee sheets will be applicable for any lost tools.  More information to come when we begin working with the tools.

If you wish to bring any of your personal tools, I cannot be held responsible for them.  You will share a locker with another student and can lock any personal tools or equipment in that locker.  I cannot supply locks, so you will need to bring your own.  These lockers are not to replace the hall lockers to store your books and book bags.  They are not large enough to store these items.  If you leave these items in your lockers at the end of the school semester, the locks will be cut and the items will become school property.

Safety will be your responsibility.  A strict safety environment is created  but you must follow the class and safety rules to be safe.  Horseplay will not be tolerated and will have serious consequences.
