To correlate with the NC 4th Grade Social Studies
Curriculum, 4th grade made a topographical map of NC.
On day One, students cut the state out of poster-board and started
to make symbols that represent things in and from North Carolina.
On day 2, they created the mountain and rolling hills out of paper
mache. On day 3, we learned about color mixing and blending
and students painted the different regions of the state.
On day 4, students finished their symbols, cut them out, and glued
them in the appropriate place on the map.
To wrap up the project, students were to write a descriptive
paragraph about North Carolina or write a narrative about an
adventure they have had on vacation in North Carolina.
