5)    Participation by all in the group!!!

PowerPoint will include:

      Why?

2)    Map in relation to US (where is this park)

3)    Map of the park itself

a.     To include:

·        Mileage

·         longitude, latitude

·         Accessibility

·        Climate / Seasonal changes

4)     Why did was it made a national park? What purpose does it serve?

5)    Interesting Facts (Why do people visit?)

6)    Plants and Animals (outstanding species, interesting facts)

7)    Geology

8)    Problems and Issues facing this park today!

9)    Preservation vs. Conservation

10)           Citations

Dec.15 and 16: Molecular Christmas Ornaments

Supplies: If students have beads, Styrofoam balls, sequins, fuzzy balls at home they can bring them to make their projects.  This is for a grade, but I have some supplies on hand.

Next Project:   Element Box Projects 

 Element Box - Each student will choose an element (one out of 203).  They will create a 12 X 12 box with a different presentation on each side.

Due Feb. 4th - Chemicals in Our World:  Household Products

Group Project: 3, 4, or 5 people.

Choose one household substance: food, cleaning agent, household substance, research chemical make-up.

Items to include:

                            -   Ingredients in product.

                            -   Crystal Lattice of at least one substance.

                            -   Benefits and/or harmfulness to environment.

                            -   History of product. (How long has it been around, has   

                                it been improved?  How?)                          

 Format of of presentation:  To include a PowerPoint, Video, or Skit or some combination of those. 

Again Due:  Wed., Feb. 4th!!   Do Not Put This Off!!!!   

 

 

 

 

Element Box Project:Choose one element to present to your class.  Symbol, history, molecular structure, uses.

              You will include a Box (cubular) in your prsentation 12X12"   You may also include a PowerPoint or Video

Students are to research and develop Geological Forces Project.

They have chosen their topic:  Earthquakes

  (one)                                         Tsunamis

                                                    Volcanoes

                                                    Hurricanes

                                                    Mud Slides

                                                    Glaciers

                                                    Plate Tectonics

Each student is responsible for research, notes, model development, and presentation to class with their group.           They may use power points, pictures, diagrams, graphs, and posters.  They decide on presentation.

Great Job on Bridge Research!   We will finish this discussion.

 

 

 Oct. 1 - 5

Individual project: research information on local bridge project over Gallants Channel.  Find as much information, pictures, data as posible concerning proposals for highway and bridge. 

Include: research, models, maps, pictures.
