Welcome to the BMS 8th grade Oceanography Class' website!
We have an abundance of information we would like to share to you
about the water quality of local bodies of water.

Oceanography is a branch of Earth Science that studies the oceans and
all living organisms that call it home.  Ocean currents, waves, plate tectonics,
geology of the ocean floor, and geophysical fluid dynamics are just a few of the aspects we will be studying.  Bio-marine Oceanography is the marine biology, or the study of all living organisms of oceans whether it be about it's plants, animals, or microbes.   Chemical Oceanography is study of chemical interactions with in ocean environments,   Geological Oceanography is the marine geology, or the study of the geology of the ocean floor which would include the effects of plate tectonics within the oceanic communities.  Lastly, Physical Oceanography is marine physics or the study of the
characteristics including temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, tides, etc.

Our goals include:

  1. Defining  Oceanography

  2. Impacts that are affecting our oceans globally

  3. How to use our water resources wisely

  4. How oceans impact  our world
