All cores:  Formulas cards are due on Tuesday, December 4, 2007.  Interim reports go out for all BMS students on Wednesday, December 5,   2007.

Core 1:  Surface area prisms and cylinders, text reference pg. 442-447, CH. 8 L8.   Examine the concept of surface area by reviewing and constructing nets for 3D figures.  Use examples from text, pg. 442-443 to compute the combined area of the 2D faces.  Assign selected problems from pg. 444-447.

Core 2:  Irregular Area created by the combination of different polygons, text reference pg. 414-418.  Reexamine selected problems from pg. 416-417 including text examples on pg. 415 and 416.  Assign pg. 417 problems 10-14 and pg. 418 17-18.

Cores 3 and 4:  Irregular Area created by the combination of different polygons, text reference pg. 414-418.  Reexamine selected problems from pg. 416-417 including text examples on pg. 415 and 416.  Assign WB.  pg. 133 1-6.

Core 4: Include "Bullseye problem" as class opener,

Tuesday

Core 1: Continue with surface area of cylinders.  Complete examples in class. Same homework assignment as last night.

Core 2:  Review combined areas of irregular figures.  Work together to solve problems 17 and 18 on pg. 417.  Use workbook pgs. to review and practice.

Core 3: s Introduce Fibonacci's sequence.  Analyze  sequence (2, 5, 11, 23, 27 ) to find the 2n + 1 rule for generating additional.  Continue working on  irregular area.  Assign WB 134 for practice.

Core 4: Introduce Fibonacci's sequence.  Analyze  sequence (2, 5, 11, 23, 27 ) to find the 2n + 1 rule for generating additional.  Continue working on  irregular area.  Assign WB 134 for practice. List formula, substitute values, and use calculator when necessary to complete computation.

Wednesday Core 1:  Irregular Area created by the combination of different polygons, text reference pg. 414-418.  Examine selected problems from pg. 415 and 416.  Introduce the concept of square roots and the radical sign ( text reference pg. 426-428).
