Review mean, mode, median and how data influences how useful this information will be.

Practice identifying random samples and surveys while examining which samples or questions induce bias.  Use examples form Pg. 596- 598.  Assign related problems from those exercises.

Tuesday

Review homework assignment.  Answer questions.  Introduce Weekly Esentials WK. 3 (Cores 1,2 and 3):  WK.(Core 4).  Review Keeping Skills Sharp section.  Begin word problems.

Wednesday

Combine cores due to field trip.  Introduce “Are You Square?”  activity.  Gather data on height and arm span for each student. Record.

Thursday

Work on the word problems from the Weekly Essentials assignment.  Also examine techniques to manipulate data presentation to influence an audience. Use examples from pg. 606 to 608.  Draw sample double bar graphs.

Friday

Complete “Mental Math” section for the Weekly Essential.  Study Island pretest.
