5th grade is the time of evolving into a responsible young adolescent.

The planner provided by PTO is the opportunity to teach accountability.

Homework assignments are put on a special white board each day.

Time is provided to record assignments and also to pack the books or worksheets that have been assigned.

The only request I ask of parents is to sign the planner and touch base with their child about the completion of the assignment.

I will follow up with my initials and give an opportunity for your child to admit to any assignment they failed to complete.

The natural consequence for not being responsible is a mark

The "pay check" for their week of hard work is to choose a favorite center or outside game if they stay within their 3 mark quota.
