Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Do students need to wear special clothing to P.E.?

  2. Do students need to take a written note to P.E. when unable to participate?

Do students need to wear special clothing to P.E.?

No.  Students can wear regular school clothes to PE but they need to wear sneakers .  They do not need to wear Crocs, flip flops, sandals, boots, jellies, dress shoes, chukka boots, clogs, etc.  The sneakers also need to fit properly so they will stay on during play. No sneakers without heels, laces missing, too big, etc.  We also ask that students not wear pants/shorts that are so big that they cannot keep them up around their waist.  It is very difficult to run or play with only one hand as the other hand is needed to hold pants up the entire time.  If pants are too big, a belt is required.  Girls need to keep in mind that dresses will not be appropriate for some activities.  Thank you for your cooperation and for helping your child(ren) be successful.

Do students need to take a written note to P.E. when unable to participate?

Yes. It is preferred that something in writing be sent from the parent/doctor
when students cannot participate or have restrictions.
A note to the classroom teacher can often be shared with the P.E. teacher.
*Please inform classroom and P.E. teacher of any medical or
physical ailments that student has such as: diabetes, asthma, allergies
-(especially life threatening), epilepsy, heart conditions, etc.
at beginning of school year or as discovered.
