What you need to now before you go! Photos What I learned!

What you need to know before you go
to the International Spy Museum.

Do you like spies? Then, you will love hearing about the International Spy Museum.  The International Spy Museum in Washington, DC,is a $40 million high-tech museum at 9th and F Streets, NW.  The museum occupies five new and old buildings, and is the only public museum in the world solely dedicated to the tradecraft, history and role of espionage.   The International Spy Museum has Kid Spy Events, workshops and demonstrations, and many new and old artifacts

Whether it's the challenge of deciphering top secret codes or the fine art of a disguise for cover, families will find an amazing array of programs, workshops, demonstrations and action-packed mission skills for kids.  Meet real "spies", learn how skills like observation, analysis and being a team-player are all important to tradecraft and in real life.  There are workshops on disguise, gadgetry, spy science, codes and ciphers; Spy Magic performances; Operation Secret Slumber overnights; and Spy for a Day missions on a monthly basis.  They also have many arcade games about being spies.

Interesting artifacts fill the International Spy Museum.  Some of them are very old and some are fairly new to the building.  Some of these artifacts include the KGB Lipstick Pistol, James Bond's Astin Martin and the mailbox once used as a signal site by the CIA turncoat, Aldrich Ames, will be on display.  There is also many artifacts from many spy movies.  There are also fragments of the plane that  hit the World Trade Center, Ritual KKK Red Robes, J. Hoover's Personal Telephone, and an Anarchist Globe Bomb on display.

The main points I talked about were the workshops & demonstrations, the  Kid Spy events, and the artifacts.  I hope you have learned a lot about the International Spy Museum.  The International Spy Museum sounds like a interesting place to visit.  If you wanted to be a spy before you read this, you sure will want to be one now!

What I Learned

I learned what people have to learn before becoming spies.  There is many interesting things about Austin Powers, and many other movie stars that played a role that had to do with espionage.

I got to climb through the air vents in the ceiling and watch people through the openings.  I had to pick a secret identity and go through different classes to learn how to be a spy.  This is what I learned.
