Old Post Office

What you need to now before you go! Photos What I learned!

What you need to know before you go
to the  Old Post Office.

Do you like heights?  Then you will love the Old Post Office.  It has a 270 foot-high observation deck where you can see spectacular views of Washington DC. The Old Post Office has a tower, has been renovated, and has a history rich in political involvement.

The Old Post Office Tower is 270 foot-high and it, has a observation deck at the very top.  It also has a exhibit room depicting the struggle of the survival of the Old Post Office Building and features the Rubinton Model, a hand craft model of the building crafted in 1914 when they closed the Old Post Office.  While touring the tower, visitors can also view the Congress Bells, one of the largest sets of change ringing bells in the United States.

The Old Post Office reopened. After years of renovation, it finally reopened. Today, both government and private owned businesses share it's generous spaces. Daily, thousands of visitors and government workers enjoy the food courts, shopping, and entertainment on the stage. The National Park Service provides tours too.

Nancy Hanks was the politically influential chairperson of the National endowment for the arts and was very responsible for the decision. The Old Post Office was rescued. In1983 the Old Post Office was officially renamed the Nancy Hanks Center. In recognition to the art and the preservation of architecturally significant building.

So you see the Old Post Office will be very entertaining. I can not wait to see it in real life. It's tower seems to be very tall. I think that that that old building has been through a lot.
