What you need to now before you go! Photos What I learned!

What you need to know before you go
to Ford Theatre

Would you like to know the place where  Abraham  Lincoln was shot.  Also the name of the gunman that shoot Abraham  Lincoln, and where the Ford Theatre is  now?

Well in April of 1865, the Ford brothers the owners of Ford Theatre, invited Abraham Lincoln to come see a show. It was called "The American Cousin" by Laura Keene.  He had no idea that this happy evening would turn into a horrible time.

During the third act of the play, John Wilkes Booth, an actor, entered the hall outside the box where the president was. John  barred the door, then shot President Lincoln with a Derringer pistol. Booth then leaped from the box seats to the stage to make his get away. He broke his leg in the fall, but escaped into the night.

The ford Theatre Is located at 511 10th street in Washington DC, tours are given daily and on our tour, we will learn about the assassination and the history of the building.

As you can see from these story, the Ford Theatre is a cool place. It is where Abraham Lincoln was shot and that is why you should visit the Ford Theatre.
