What you need to now before you go! Photos What I learned!

What you need to know before you go
to the American History Museum.

Wow! Listen to the cool things you might see in a nice museum in Washington D.C. It's called the American History Museum. For those who prefer history, whether it be human or natural, the American history is worth your visit. You'll see photography exhibits; the printing press; the evolution of the piano; quilts and clothing of bygone days.

The museum has more than 30 exhibits, both big and small. The museum opened to the public in January 1964, as the National Museum of History and Technology. In the museum you can see a Hands on science  center, Hands on History Room, and last but not least ''Cool'' Exhibits . The Museum of American History offers tours, special programs, and festivals. Each tour takes about and hour.

The special exhibits include, among others,  an art exhibit about Duke Ellington; and an exhibit about our flag and it's preservation. The American History  Museum has been a landmark for more than four decades. In the past year, the Museum has begun a sweeping multi-phase renovation of the buildings interior spaces. The star-spangled banner, the flag that inspired the national anthem, will serve as the central icon in the renovation of this ''contemporary classic'' structure.

The first phase of the renovation was completed in the late 2004.  Opening in November 2004,the museum updated the third-floor Military History Hall and opened The Price of Freedom: Americans at War. This new major exhibit surveys  the history of the U.S. military from the colonial era to the present.

The star -spangled banner is the centerpiece of the second phase of the renovation that begins in to be 2005 and completes in 2007. The design concept calls for the opening the entire multistory core of the Museum  to create a dramatic new gallery for the flag.

The American History museum is a site to see.  And Have a grand time as you

learn lots of new and exciting things.

What I Learned

This has been a wonderful experience for me and I have had a grand time in Washington DC. I have learned that  the the American Flag that was dragged over 9/11 is in the American History museum. I've learned that the ''Fonz'' jacket is displayed there. You can learn from the Washington DC American History museum. That's what's makes it a nice Museum.
