Meeting called to order at 7:00pm

• Micah Davis made a motion to consider a representative from the Boys and Girls club to attend our Advisory meetings.

• Becky Misner spoke about the need for additional Tudors to assist in the Power Hour. We would like to keep the children on site during the power hour and have volunteers to assist them with homework, etc before transported to the Boys and Girls club.                                        

• Sandy Giacobbi spoke in regards to the PTO. They are losing some board members and are in need of some replacements for the up coming year. PTO really needs dedicated, reliable members to head up different roles in the PTO.  We would really like to see parents of K thru 2^nd be involved.

• Becky Misner spoke of the need for Computers. The majority of the ones we have are below standards for some of the work the children are required to accomplish.   

• Our next Advisory board meeting is scheduled for February 13^th and will be held in the boardroom at 1200.

 Again I would like to remind parents that the advisory board members are your sounding board for issues regarding your child and Beaufort Elementary School. Please feel free to contact them with questions you may have.

•  Note to parents: Please get involved with your children’s future by attending the PTO meetings. PTO=Parent/Teacher/Organization…. (Parent can be Dad also!!).

Parent Advisory Board Meeting

October 13, 2005

 Attendance:

Board members present:  Mike Cockrell,  Alicia Nelson,  Ashley Hardison,  Micah Davis,  Lise Sabistion

This is the first Advisory board meeting of the 2005-2006 school year.

Our first order of business was to elect officers.

• Micah Davis was nominated by Mike Cockrell and the remaining board members voted in favor.

• Mike Cockrell will remain secretary for the 2005-2006 school year.

The board also agreed to add another member. Joann Maulshagen will be contacted for possible acceptance.

Just a reminder to all. Fall Festival is Friday October 21 from 5pm to 8pm. We need all the volunteers we can get to help run booths. Please show up and support your children.

Note to all parents of children of Beaufort Elementary School.
