| ART from the HEART
It is time to prepare for the Student Art Exhibition.
The tentative date for Art from the Heart is February 17.
This year the Arts Council has obtained a building large enough
to house both shows simultaneously. The show will be
located in the old Carteret News-Times building located on Arendell
Street. Since the school system is combining with
the Arts Council Show, you will need to hang your artwork sometime
during the week of February 10-15. The Arts Council will hold its
fundraiser, Friday, February 16. The show will officially open to the
public Saturday, February 17.
The school's opening will occur Thursday, February 22.

Superintendent’s
Christmas Card Contest for Middle Schools
Dr. Lenker sends Christmas cards across the state to other school
systems, senators, representatives, Governor Easley and many others.
He would love to send a card designed by a Carteret County School
student. The student’s name, grade, school and art teacher will be
on the card. If you would like to enter the contest rules follow.
This year the contest is for Middle School only. Some suggested
themes are: Santa, snowmen, holiday decoration, winter, coastal,
