Information about the Baltimore Aquarium
The National Baltimore Aquarium is located on the Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.  as is the home to approximately 10,500 specimens and more than 560 species.  It has more than just fish.  Reptiles, birds, amphibians, mammals, and invertebrates are also found here.  The museum is expanding and this month the aquarium features fifteen exhibits, but for now it remains under construction.  Some of these exhibits include Seahorses: Beyond Imagination until January 4, 2004.  Over 2,000,000 visitors in just under a year have seen these award-winning exhibits.  On the first floor you can see the aquarium’s humpback whale overhead, as well as a pool filed with stingrays that are featured in the show Wings In The Water.  Feel free to also see the Immerse Tours which features a guided tour through the world of an aquatic creature.

The Eco Trek Sleepover is another of the exhibits that’s theme is centered on a rainforest.  You are transported from Maryland to the tropical climates of South America, as you stay overnight and search the aquarium’s galleries and in the morning you are transported to the Upland Tropical Rain Forest to watch the tropical birds eat their breakfast. The Marine Animal Rescue Program (MARP) has an exhibit where visitors can learn about animals in danger and what it takes to rescue them.  It gives you a behind the scenes look at the Rescue Program and makes it possible to learn about careers that involve marine animals. This tour shows you how the animals are rescued and how their food is prepared and the hospital pools, which are a large part of the Animal Rescue Facility.
