Information about National Zoo

The National Zoological Park is a free zoo that is in wonderful Washington D.C. It is located in the Smithsonian Institute and is the best place to spend the day. The zoo was established by Congress in 1889. It is 163 acres and has many different animals ranging from giant pandas to a Komodo Dragon. Two of the pandas found in the zoo are Mei Xiang and Tian Tian who are major attractions. If you are one of the many people that want to see the giant pandas then you should come early so you can see them, when they are active. If you come later then you need to be prepared for very long lines, especially during the summer. If it is hot you should definitely wear light clothes because the line to see the pandas forms outside. If pandas aren’t what you want to see; then you can come see many other animals. The zoo has most all animals there. Lions, Tigers, Bears, etc.

If you are trying to find somewhere to eat then all you have to do is go to the Panda Café or Mane Restaurant. After you eat you can get souvenirs at the National Zoo Shops. You should come to the National Zoological Park if you are ever in Washington D.C. and join the 3 million people that come every year.
