Odyssey of the Mind Region
Competition set for March 1, 2008 in Carteret County

Carteret County Public School System will host the 2008 North Carolina
Odyssey of the Mind Coastal Region Competition Saturday, March 1, 2008.
These competitions will take place at Bogue Sound Elementary School and
Croatan High School, which share a campus and are located on Highway 24
between Cape Carteret and Morehead City (click
for driving directions).
As many as 750 students from across the region are expected to compete in
the event. They will be accompanied by coaches, teachers and family members.
An additional 150-175 judges, officials and volunteers will come to Carteret
County to take part in the activities.
The
Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program whose mission is
to provide creative problem-solving opportunities for students. Through
solving open-ended problems, students develop creative-thinking skills that
can be applied to real-life situations.
